God's perfect timing

I had our vacation to Texas planned for months. When we knew that James was deploying, I knew I wanted to come home and visit family and friends to make the time fly by. We flew into Texas on July first (Wednesday) and we were so excited for a stress free vacation. On July 5th (Sunday) my grandma had a stroke.

A little background on my grandma: My grandma raised me from 6th grade until I graduated high school. She is wise, kind and a loving woman. She came to every volleyball game, track meet and football game. She sat and cheered me on no matter what. Whether I was sitting on the bench or in the starting line up. She sat next to all of the young parents and their group of friends that she was not apart of. She never complained. She loved me through my rebellious teenage years and was so proud when I found the man of my dreams, graduated college and when we welcomed our first baby. She is my biggest cheerleader. My grandma was a Catholic school teacher for over 55 years. She loved what she did even though she did not make a lot of money.

Seeing her going through this challenge is heart breaking for me but I am so extremely thankful that we were in Corpus Christi when it happened. God is so good and he knew this would happen. He placed us in Texas for that moment when she would need us most. She is so in love with Gideon and that was the best medicine for her. I want to encourage you all that when something difficult happens, praise God in the storm. There is always something good that comes out of something tragic. I do not believe that us being there was a coincidence and neither should you.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

When you think about our Military, think about how most of them live so far away from their families. When something tragic happens they are not there. A lot of the time they do not make it home until after their loved one has passed.

This mommy in paradise had a difficult trip home but I am thankful for my God who makes me stronger with every trial in my life. It is so terrible watching your loved ones get older and have health problems. It is something we have no control over. I am thankful that there is a true Paradise and that I will see everyone I love there at the end of time.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Next, I will announce what blessing came out of one of our biggest losses. Stay tuned...
