Date Night

I cannot express how important it is to have a date night with your spouse after children. Life with children can be hectic and leaves little time for just husband & wife. With that said, we have not had a date night since Gideon was born. We have had sitters for work events but never just for US.

Why haven’t we had a date night in 10 months? Well, because we live in Hawaii away from family who actually want to watch our child for FREE. We are so blessed to have friends here who volunteer to watch our son so we can have some alone time together. Seriously, you guys rock!

Emily and Joey watched our son for us last night and it was AMAZING. Seriously, I cannot express how much this meant to us. It really made us feel loved. I encourage you all to volunteer to watch your friends kids every once and a while so they can have a date night. It means more than you know. (Especially when they live away from family) Do not wait for them to ask you because they will most likely NOT ask you. It can be akward asking someone to watch your child. You do not want people to think that you are using them. What a great way to serve by helping your friends enhance their marriage!

So our date started out getting an adult beverage at a cigar bar called Row Bar. Row Bar is located in Honolulu and has such a great outside atmosphere.

Next stop, Nordstrom. My husband bought me a couple of amazing gifts for my birthday from my favorite place!

Our last stop was sushi at Tokoname in Honolulu and it was delicious. We love sushi! We even got $100 worth of gift cards at Costco for $80.

I am so thankful for friends who take time out of their week nights to come over and make sure our little boy is safe while we spend some quality time together. Don't get me wrong- we LOVE our son but our marriage comes first. In order for us to be the best parents we can be we have to be the best husband and wife we can be!
