A little bit of home

My husband and I have lived on the beautiful island of Oahu for over a year now. It is hands down the most beautiful place in the entire world. The people here are so friendly and really show you the meaning of Aloha. The ocean is such a unique blue and the moutains are breathtaking. How can you not believe in God when looking around these gorgeous islands? The food here is incredible: Sushi, Japanese ramen, Spam musubi (it really is delicious), just to name a few. This is our sixth duty station in the past five years and we can honestly say this is the most "at home" we have ever felt. With all of that said, Texas is still the Promise Land and we sure do miss it.

We had a couple of friends come out and stay with us for a week a few months ago. We have told any of our friends and family that our house is open if they want to take a vacation to Hawaii. Yesterday we received a thank you gift from them and it was AWESOME! These are a few of our favorite things back in Texas that you cannot get here in Hawaii.

Put the fact that gift giving is my love language aside, this was so special to us. I really encourage you to do the same thing to anyone away from home for whatever reason. Can I just say that this was not at ALL cheap to mail. This package was so heavy and shipping to Hawaii is outrageous. Thanks again Shane & Crystal. You guys are so special and really made us feel loved. You are the meaning of Ohana.
